A Go Fund Me page has been set up in an effort to raise money to cover funeral expenses for the family of Landon Lane, a 17-year-old who died on Father’s Day just west of Jasper.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan said deputies were called to a home on Holmwood Drive early Sunday afternoon when it was reported that the death had occurred. Duncan said no foul play was suspected.
With a goal of raising $15,000.00, as of Monday afternoon the effort, organized by Delilah Delacruz, had already raised just over $11,000.00 for the boy’s parents, Jimmy & Carisa Lane.

Delilah Cruz wrote the following information on the Go Fund Me page; “It is with great sadness that the Lane family lost their son, Landon Lane this morning on Father’s Day. Landon was the sweetest kid with heart bigger than Texas. He was kind to everyone he encountered and if you knew him, he made you smile. He loved his family, friends and the Texans. He will be greatly missed by everyone! We’re asking for your help to cover funeral expenses. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Please keep this precious family in your prayers.”
