Funeral services held for lawman who served more than a half-century

Area law enforcement officers along with family and friends gathered late Wednesday morning at Call Junction Baptist Church to say goodbye to James Howard Forse, of Kirbyville. The veteran lawman died on Monday, February 2oth at the age of 76 after being in hospice care here in Jasper. Forse was a peace officer for over 5o years, having served as a Kirbyville police officer, a Jasper County deputy, and in the Jasper County Courthouse. Forse is survived by his wife, Brenda, along with three daughters, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
