Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says four people underwent treatment for non-life threatening injuries following a Sunday afternoon accident in Buna. It happened at about 2:30 on U.S. Highway 96 at Farm to Market Road 1004 South.

DPS Sergeant Stephanie Davis said that a 2009 Nissan SUV, driven by Katie Landry, 35, of Buna, was traveling southbound on Highway 96 while a 2013 Buick passenger vehicle, driven by Diana Askey, 50, also of Buna, was traveling eastbound on FM 1004. Davis said Landry ran a red light and the front of her Nissan struck the passenger side door of Askew's Buick.

Davis said Landry and her two daughters, ages 8 and 13, along with Askew were all transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

According to Davis, Landry was issued a traffic citation for disregarding a red light-traffic signal.
