Fort Johnson alerting residents of increased helicopter traffic from training

FT. JOHNSON, La. (KPLC) - Army officials are alerting residents around the Fort Johnson area that there will be increased helicopter traffic due to an upcoming large-scale training exercise. The 101st Airborn Division will be conducting a training exercise from Friday, January 12 to Monday, January 15 which will include helicopter operations near Fort Johnson and the Alexandra International Airport. The training is designed to evaluate and certify the division’s ability to conduct large-scale, long-range air assault operations as well as test the unit’s communication, logistical resupply, and tactical abilities.
