A phenomenon that we last saw during the March 2016 flooding event in Newton County has happened again - this time in Jasper County. Several caskets floated up out of the ground at West Green Lawn Cemetery on the far west side of Kirbyville. The incident was discovered on Wednesday morning. Some of the caskets stayed by their burial plot, while at least one floated away until it was stopped by trees and bushes at the side of the cemetery. Workers were busy trying to determine which plots each caskets floated out of.
