Five injured - including three children - in Buna crash

Five people, which included three children, were injured in an early Monday evening accident just south of Buna. Sergeant Shana Clark of the Texas Department of Public Safety says it happened shortly after 5:00 on Highway 96 at Business Highway 96. According to Sergeant Clark, Geneva Carrell, 29, of Buna, was stopped at a stop sign on Business Highway 96, and then pulled out onto the highway despite a northbound 2019 Honda passenger car, driven by Brent Williford, 39, of Brookeland. Clark said the SUV and the car collided. According to Clark, both drivers, as well as passengers in the SUV, ages 2, 4, and 7, were all transported by ambulances to St Fli7abeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment. There was no word on the severity of those injuries.
