SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - We have a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY in effect for Friday due to severe storms ongoing through the early morning hours and they should continue on for the most part up into the middle of the day.
We’re mainly watching out for a flash flooding threat with some areas getting multiple inches of rainfall from these many storms coming on through. The storms should slowly but surely clear out during lunchtime and the early afternoon hours. It should be a dry, partly cloudy late afternoon and nighttime to start the long weekend.
Today should be the coolest day of the week with high’s only expected to reach the upper 70’s and lower 80’s for the afternoon. The morning begins with temperatures in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s.
Saturday could give us a few light rain showers especially in the southern half of the ArkLaTex in the morning, but overall, I should see most of us dry with sunshine and a little cloud cover in throughout much of the day. There is no severe weather risk though with the stray storms that do show up. High temperatures increase a little bit into the mid 80’s for the afternoon after starting the morning in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s.
The rest of Labor Day weekend should continue to be pleasant with mostly dry and partly cloudy conditions. We could see a few more stray showers on either day though. Both Sunday and Monday give us high temperatures a little hotter in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.
Next work week looks to continue our sunny trend. A stray shower will still possible look to linger into Tuesday, we should completely eliminate the rain chance for Wednesday and Thursday with beautiful sunshine. High temperatures as a result will look to increase as high’s get into the mid 90’s for the middle of next week.
