Firemen from Jasper and all surrounding counties as well as two parishes across the river in Louisiana were busy on Tuesday as fires continue due to the high level of fire danger.
The largest fire here in Jasper County occurred in the south end, near Buna and was finally brought under control by Buna firemen along with workers from the Texas Forest Service.
Even though a burn ban is in place, some people continue to burn.
Jasper County Judge Mark Allen asked everyone to know that it is a dangerous situation and he and other re-instated the ban for a reason.
