A Tuesday afternoon fire destroyed a house in far north Jasper County. Lake Rayburn firefighters responded to the blaze shortly after 3:00 on County Road 230. Flames quickly spread through the one-story wood-frame structure, owned by Tina Worsham. There's no official word on what may have caused the fire. However, a neighbor said there was a lightning strike from a thunderstorm that was over the area and she believed that it hit the house. Worsham safely escaped the house without injury.
