The volunteers from the Dam B and Spurger Fire Departments responded to a house fire around 535 Monday night on County Road 4190 in the Town Bluff area. Upon arrival the fire which is believed to been ignited by a heat lamp on the exterior of the home, which had been placed there to prevent a faucet from freezing with the recent freezing temperatures. Neighbors put the fire out. However, smoke was still visible from the attic prompting the firefighters to enter the attic and douse burning insulation. This could have been a tragic situation and it should serve as a reminder to be cautious when using any type of external heat source
