Fire and explosions destroyed a large 5th-wheel travel trailer on Sunday afternoon. It happened at about 1:00 on Farm to Market Road 252, approximately 4 miles south of Jasper. A neighbor, Leif Howard, said that he was in his house, heard an explosion and looked outside to see the travel trailer in flames. Howard said there were at least six more explosions, which he and others believe were from multiple propane tanks inside the trailer. Fortunately, Howard said the owner of the RV, Christina Sosa, was not at home at the time and no injuries resulted from the fire. Jasper firefighters arrived to find the RV fully engulfed and immediately went to work battling the blaze. The Beech Grove Fire Department also responded to assist with a tanker truck and manpower. There's no word yet on what might have sparked the blaze which completely destroyed the RV.
