No details are known, but we have confirmed that federal authorities arrested a man who was in a Jasper home on Thursday. At about noon, officers on the federal, state, county, and municipal level went to a house in the 200 block of Sheila Street, and a short time later a man was transported by a state trooper to the Jasper County Jail. Jasper Police Captain Mike Poindexter said that Jasper officers only assisted with the arrest, and the case itself was headed up by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms out of Beaumont. KJAS News has requested for information about the arrest from United States Attorney's Office Public Information Officer Davilyn Walston, but as of late Thursday afternoon we've not heard back from her. We will update this story when new information becomes available.
