What was reported as a plane crash near the Tyler-Polk County line on Wednesday afternoon has a happy ending. The Tyler County Sheriff's Department reports that a military plane that was believed to have crashed has been accounted for.
Sheriff Brian Weatherford said the aircraft landed safely at Fort Polk in Louisiana.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department had earlier confirmed that they were looking for a crash site following reports of a twin-engine plane going down.
Both Polk and Tyler County emergency crews were concentrating their search in an area north of the 6700 block of County Road 1450, also known as Buddy Lloyd Road, which is about 11 miles southwest of Woodville and about 4 miles east-northeast of Dallardsville.
