Polk County Judge Sydney Murphy has ordered an evacuation of people living along the Trinity River as massive amounts of water are being released from the Lake Livingston Dam. This comes after thunderstorms crossed that area over the weekend and dropped a large amount of rain, and that followed a large rain event a few weeks ago. The rainfall resulted in rivers and creeks swelling and the lake level going up. Law enforcement in Polk County has been giving updates on flooding of several county roads and highways south of the Lake Livingston Dam.
