Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby says that heavy equipment which was stolen in Newton County over the weekend has been found in Jasper County. On Monday, Burby said a skid steer and a mulcher which was owned by Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative had been stolen from a location next to Farm to Market Road 2939, about 5 miles southwest of Newton. On Tuesday, Burby said the equipment was found on County Road 454 in the Roganville Community of Jasper County. Burby is asking for anyone who has any information about the theft to call his department at 409-.79-3636. You do not have to give your name.
