Jasper County Judge Mark Allen said late Monday afternoon that the Ebenezer Community wildfire - officially named the Shearwood Creek Wildfire – is now 95% contained. Allen said firefighters continue to work on a few hot-spots that flare up, and he said that U.S. Forestry Service officials will remain on scene for a few more days. Judge Allen also said that thunderstorms which came through the area on Sunday night certainly helped. Here at KJAS, we recorded 49/100 inch of rain.
