Last week we promised a look at the final numbers of early voting for Saturday's Gubernatorial election.
The Statewide Early Voting Statistical Report, available through the Office of the Secretary of State showed that as of this morning, votes are generally higher in the early voting for this election compared to the preliminary election in October.
Allen Parish was the only one in our general area with fewer early voters going to the polls. The report shows they had 1,460 before the October 12 election and 1,306 over the last week.
Other Parishes reported increases.
Beauregard Parish lists 3,287 in October and 3,977 this past week;
Sabine Parish shows 2,320 in October and 2,478 last week; and
Vernon Parish reported 3,461 votes in October with 3,939 in November.
The official election day is this Saturday and polling locations will open at 7am and close at 8 pm. If you are in line at 8 pm you will be allowed to vote. The GeauxVote app can help you find information on the election, including helping you find the location where you are assigned to vote.
