Rapides Parish – On June 7, 2025, at approximately 3:36 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal crash on Hooper Road north of Louisiana Highway 3325. This crash claimed the life of 62-year-old Jeffrey Foster of Dry Prong.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Foster, was traveling north on Hooper Road. For reasons still under investigation, Foster lost control of the vehicle which caused it to leave the roadway and impact multiple trees.
Foster, who was not restrained, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
Although not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injury. Always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained can often mean the difference between life and death.
