Law enforcement in Orange County was busy on Thursday searching for a driver who caused a fatal accident and then fled the scene. It happened at about 6:30am on Farm to Market Road 1006, which is just southwest of Orange.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the driver of a pickup truck or SUV rear-ended a Ford passenger car which sent it into oncoming traffic and it was then hit by an SUV, and then hit again by the driver who caused the crash which caused the car to hit another car.
The driver of the Ford car died at the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
The drivers of the other vehicles had non-life-threatening injuries.
