MANSFIELD, La. – DeSoto Parish sheriff’s investigators have released the name of the man and woman involved in a deadly shooting on Interstate 49 last month.
Jachristian Henderson, 18, died as a result of the shooting. Bryanna Jenkins, 22, who was in the car with him, survived. Both are from Mansfield.
“At this stage of the investigation, it is believed to have resulted from a domestic situation,” according to a statement from investigators via sheriff’s office spokesman Deputy Mark Pierce.
“We aren’t prepared yet to say the words ‘attempted murder-suicide’ as the investigators are still gathering information as to what led up to the event,” Pierce added.
Deputies found Henderson and Jenkins on March 31 in a car in the median of I-49 just south of the Caddo-DeSoto line.
Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene. Jenkins was taken to the hospital and admitted. She is recovering.
