The Texas Department of Public Safety announced on Thursday that although state troopers are continuing to maintain a presence at the Texas/Louisiana state line, they have ceased screening travelers entering Texas.
However, DPS says that they encourage everyone to follow guidance and self-quarantine procedures that have been recommended by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, which is to isolate yourself for 2 weeks if you come into Texas and you’re a Louisiana resident, or if you have spent any length of time there.
DPS says that Abbott ordered Monday that the 2 week quarantine for Louisiana drivers be eliminated.
Meanwhile, the 2 week quarantine remains in effect for those who travel to Texas by air from the following states; California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, or from the following cities; Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, and Miami, FL.
