JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Texas DPS has identified two people who were killed in a head-on collision in Jasper County Monday.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an SUV traveling north collided with a pickup truck traveling south on U.S. Highway 96 near County Road 296 around 1:58 p.m.
DPS said a preliminary investigation showed the SUV crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with the truck.
The driver of the SUV was identified as Carolyn Brewster, 79, died on scene, according to the DPS report.
The driver of the truck was identified as Debra Pedigo, 79, of Weatherford, was taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Her passenger was identified as James Pedigo, 66, of Weatherford, and died on scene, according to the report.
DPS said the investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
