Buna ISD officials say the discovery of about 30 bats who had taken up residence in the school district’s Activity Center resulted in the postponement of the junior high school band concert, and also the temporary closure of the building. School district officials say they’ll bring in a company to remove the bats, and then openings will be sealed up so that they can’t return. Texas has thirty-three species of bats. At sunset they take flight and throughout the night they eat a massive amount of insects. They return to roost before sunrise and sleep through the day.
