A Memphis, Tennessee father and son are jailed after a hit and run crash in Diboll turned into a 130 mile-per-hour police pursuit through Polk County.
It all began with the hit and run shortly before 7:00 Wednesday evening in Diboll where the two were in a 2008 Nissan Altima and fled the scene of the accident.
Corrigan Police said a short time later they spotted the suspect vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on U.S. Highway 59. The suspects refused to stop and a high-speed pursuit ensued on Highway 59 into Polk County and then onto an FM highway and then a dirt road.
It ended near the Moscow Community when the suspects took a corner too fast and rolled the car.
The driver, Clovis Cortez Maxwell, 37, and his son, Quindarius Maxwell, 20, were then taken into custody.
Inside the car, police said they found a large amount of prescription pills, bags of marijuana, including bags of edible marijuana disguised as Cheetos bags, and over $22,000.00 in cash.
