SHREVEPORT, La. -- A DeSoto Parish man who burglarized his employer's business and then set fire to the building must serve a decade in prison, a Caddo District judge has ruled.
Cross McCray, 23, of Keachi, was convicted of simple arson last month. Judge Chris Victory sentenced him Tuesday to spend the next 10 years in prison.
The jury determined that on Dec. 20, 2022, McCray burglarized his place of employment. Before leaving in a stolen vehicle, he went back into the building and set it on fire. The fire caused extensive damages resulting in more than $500 in damages.
Assistant District Attorneys Briana C. Spivey and Courtney N. Ray prosecuted McCray. He was defended by Michael Enright and Silver Sanders.
