DeRidder City Council met at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2021.
Ordinances were passed to adjust the millage rate for police and fire operations (2.74 mills) and general alimony (7.62 mills), and to roll forward the millage rates. The public hearings are set for Monday, July 26, 2021, in the regularly scheduled meeting.
An ordinance was authorized to allow the city to contract with Total Construction of DeRidder for repairs to the damaged restroom roof at Bryant Park. The public hearing is Monday, July 26, 2021 in the regularly scheduled meeting.
Public hearings were held to adopt two ordinances:
- To dedicate Johnny Joe Lane in Memorial Park Subdivision as authorized by the owners and developers: Joseph L. Sowells, Vanilla Sanders and Debbie Vaughn.
- To rezone 1412 Rose Street from General Business District to Transitional Business District.
Director of Public Works Tommy Landry shared that the roadwork on 8th Street that was supposed to be done yesterday was postponed due to weather. It was expected to be done today. Once 8th street is finished, work will begin on a portion of Texas Street and then Fisher Road.
