Sabine Parish Sheriff Deputy Graduates P.O.S.T. Academy August 17, 2023 - Sheriff Aaron Mitchell congratulates Deputy Randy Sims for receiving his P.O.S.T. Level 1 Certification for Basic Law Enforcement Peace Officers on August 10, 2023. Deputy Sims was among 23 law enforcement officers who completed the 11-week Lafourche Parish Sheriff Regional Training Academy in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Deputy Sims had previously received his P.O.S.T. Level 2 Certification for Basic Correctional Peace Officers. The Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) was established by Act 397 of 1976 to develop training standards for peace officers in the State of Louisiana. Deputy Sims has worked for the Sheriff's Office for almost 10 years. Sims is currently a Civil Process Server and is deeply committed to his job. Sheriff Mitchell congratulates Sims again and is proud to have him as a Deputy Sheriff of the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office.
