No details are known, but KJAS News has confirmed that a fatal auto-pedestrian crash occurred Thursday evening in far southwest Newton County.
Emergency crews responded at about 8:30 to Highway 62 in a small corner of Newton County between Buna and Mauriceville, where they reported that the victim was deceased at the scene.
KJAS News has requested information from the Texas Department of Public Safety and this story will be updated when that information is released.
