Desoto Parish, La (KTAL/KMSS) – A Coushatta man was killed early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash along Interstate 49 in Desoto Parish, according to the Louisiana State Police (LSP).
Troopers with LSP Troop G responded to the crash around 3:40 a.m. near Asseff Road. The victim was identified as 31-year-old Travion Miller of Coushatta. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation revealed Miller was driving a 2024 Mack tractor northbound on I-49 when the vehicle exited the roadway, for reasons still under investigation. The tractor then collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle, sending both up an embankment and finally overturning.
Due to the severity of the crash, Miller’s restraint use is unknown.
Investigators say impairment is not suspected, but toxicology samples were taken to be submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
