MANY, La. -- A Sabine Parish man has been arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of a young girl, and his wife is accused of knowing about it but not reporting it to law enforcement, Sheriff Aaron Mitchell said Monday in a news release. Justin Lane Parrie, 43, and Catherine Hippler Parrie, 34, both of Many, were booked on assorted charges. Justin Parrie is charged with first-degree rape of a juvenile under age 13 and molestation of a juvenile under age 13. He's held on a $500,000 bond in the Sabine Parish Detention Center. Catherine Parrie is charged with accessory after the fact of first-degree rape of a juvenile under age 13, principal to molestation of a juvenile under age 13, failure to report the commission of certain felonies. She's held in the Sabine Parish Women's Jail without bond. Mitchell said Justin Parrie began abusing a 12-year-old girl in February 2023. Catherine Parrie knew about it but urged her not to tell anyone, Mitchell said. According to Louisiana law, it is unlawful for any person having knowledge of the commission of any rape or sexual abuse of a child to fail to report or disclose such information to a law enforcement agency, Mitchell said.
