CORRIGAN, Texas (KTRE) - Corrigan-Camden ISD says a student athlete has died after he suffered a medical emergency at a game last week.
Daniel Rivera collapsed on the sidelines of a game on Sept. 26 in a medical emergency unrelated to the game, the ISD said previously. He was in critical condition at that time.
The ISD announced on Saturday that Rivera has died.
“Daniel was not only a dedicated student but also a passionate athlete, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of our Bulldog Family,” the ISD statement said. “His energy, kindness and determination left a lasting impact on all who knew him. We extend our deepest condolences to Daniel’s family, friends and teammates, who all are grieving this profound loss. During this incredibly difficult time, we encourage everyone to support one another and honor Daniel’s memory through unity, compassion, and strength. Daniel will forever remain in our hearts.”
