A DeSoto Parish woman should see her charges upgraded Wednesday following her arrest for shooting her husband, investigators say.
Cheryl Hodgkiss, 59, was booked Tuesday night into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on a charge of domestic abuse aggravated battery. That is expected to be changed to attempted second-degree murder, Capt. Adam Ewing said.
Hodgkiss is accused of shooting her husband, Glenn Hodgkiss, multiple times following a domestic dispute in their home located in the 100 block of Ward Road in Stonewall, Ewing said.
Glenn Hodgkiss called 911 after he was shot. He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital in Shreveport, where he was treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his arm and face.
The shooting was “unprovoked,” Ewing said, adding, “There was no physical violence” leading up to the time Cheryl Hodgkiss armed herself with a 9-mm handgun. Cheryl Hodgkiss was intoxicated, he added.
