Changes to the Louisiana constitution on election day ballot

SHREVEPORT, La. - Louisiana voters will also decide four proposed changes to the state's constitution. Amendment three could allow parish governments to give up to $25,000 in extra property tax exemptions for police, firefighters and other first responders who own homes and live in the parish. "They kind of have done this or put this in there. I think it's kind of been an incentive for people to get into those fields. To fill those roles because they're shortages or to attract folks into parishes, where they have shortages," said Barry Erwin, president of the Council for a Better Louisiana.
