Car Leaves Roadway and Crashes into Restaurant Parking Lot

Three people are undergoing treatment for the injuries they received when an auto accident occurred, causing a vehicle to leave the road and crash into other vehicles in the parking lot of a restaurant here in Jasper on Wednesday.

Officers with the Jasper Police Department said the crash occurred when 93 year old William Crowell of Jasper, who was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 pick up truck, pulled out of the parking lot of Martin's Mexican Restaurant in the 400 block of North Wheeler Street and struck a northbound 2017 Nissan Altima, causing it to leave the roadway and enter the parking lot of the restaurant, where it struck an electric pole and a parked vehicle.

Officers said the parked vehicle then rolled forward and hit a 2012 Ford F-350 pick up truck, pushing it into a still another parked pick up truck before coming to a stop.

The crash broke an electric pole in half, causing the Altima to turn over trapping the driver and her two vehicles inside.

Crowell was not injured in the crash, but the driver of the Altima, Dana Loraine Anderson, 60 and her two passengers, Jessica Renay Limbrick, 24, and her daughter, Dakota Anderson, age 1, all of Jasper, were all taken by Acadian EMS Ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for what was said to be non-life threatening injuries.

Firemen and police arrived at the scene and soon had the wreckage cleared as workers from the City of Jasper’s Electrical Department worked to remove the downed pole and restore power to the area.

Witnesses at the scene praised local wrecker truck operator Leon Clark and others who were first to arrive at the scene who immediately went to work rescuing  Anderson and her passengers from the vehicle.
