SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Blanchard man was arrested Saturday for hit-and-run and multiple other traffic violations, Sheriff Henry Whitehorn said in a news release Sunday.
The arrest of Colin Hurst, 34, started with a burglary call around 8 a.m. in the 6900 block of Carroll Circle near Blanchard. He was found bleeding in the backyard.
Deputies said Hurst also appeared to be "extremely impaired" and believed he was at his own home. But as the investigation progressed, deputies learned Hurst had crashed his vehicle on Glenn Road and ran.
Hurst was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained while trying to break into the house on Carroll Circle. He was later booked into Caddo Correctional Center on charges of hit and run, DWI-fourth offense and driving under suspension.
Hurst's license was suspended due to a prior DUI.
