Busy Wednesday morning for Beech Grove Firefighters & First Responders

It was a busy Wednesday morning for Beech Grove Firefighters & First Responders as they dealt with two separate accidents. Fire Chief Jamie Gunter says it began at about 1:3o when a single-vehicle accident was reported on County Road 15o in the Beech Grove Community. Gunter said they arrived to find a Chevrolet SUV wrecked in a ditch and the air-bags had been deployed. However, Gunter said no one was in the vehicle. Texas DPS Sergeant Shana Clark said troopers did not investigate that accident, but they did investigate another crash which occurred shortly after Too. Emergency crews were dispatched to Highway 63 West at County Road 196 ("Rebel Road") in the Curtis Community where a vehicle pulling a trailer and another vehicle had collided, resulting in significant damage and one injury. Sergeant Clark said William White, 64, of Jasper, was driving a GMC pickup truck and pulling a lowboy trailer when he entered Highway 63 from County Road 196 and pulled out into the path of an eastbound Chevrolet Avalanche SUV, driven by Chedric Adams, 37, also of Jasper. Clark said the Chevrolet SIN struck the trailer, resulting in injuries to Adams, He was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, White was not hurt, but Sergeant Clark said he received a citation for Failure to Yield Right-of-Way.
