Burn bans are beginning to go back up across the area. Some counties had dropped their burn bans after a small amount of rain a few weeks ago, but firefighters were soon battling numerous wildfires – many of which were caused by careless outdoor burning. Here in Jasper County, Judge Mark Allen reinstated the burn ban on Saturday, October 21st and it will remain in effect until Saturday, October 28th, unless the Commissioners Court decides to extend it out to a later date. In Jefferson County, Judge Jeff Branick on Wednesday issued a burn ban, but only for the south end of the county. In Orange County, Judge John Gothia on Wednesday placed the entire county under a burn ban.
