A Brookeland woman died and two children were seriously injured in a weekend accident in Hardin County. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, it occurred shortly before 2:00 Sunday afternoon on Farm to Market Road 770 near Coe Road, which is about 5 miles southwest of Kountze. Clark said Shari Moody, 72, was driving a Nissan Titan pickup truck eastbound when she failed to negotiate a curve. According to Clark, the truck went off the highway and struck a culvert and then a tree, which flipped it upside down. Moody was pronounced dead at the scene, while two young children, ages 3 and 4, were transported to Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston.
