There was a sad ending in a missing person's case in Vernon Parish over the weekend. Sheriff Sam Craft has announced that a man was found deceased on the ground after he fell from a tree stand. The report said that 63-year-old Ronald Lopez, of Scott, Louisiana, went into the woods of the Kisatchie National Forest, about i8 miles southeast of Leesville, on Saturday morning, but never came out. The family reported him missing shortly before 8:00 that night. According to the report, a bloodhound tracking dog named "Bo" led deputies to the location of the man. The report said deputies found evidence that a chain malfunctioned on the tree stand, resulting in the man falling to his death
