The U.S. Forest Service on Monday closed Boykin Springs Recreation Area which is located off of State Highway 63 West.
According to the Forest Service, the Boykin Springs Project is the first phase of the Great American Outdoor Act, and the closure will allow work crews to perform maintenance on multiple facilities and infrastructure within the park.
Additionally, the forest service says that the plan calls for improving access and visitor experiences.
The government agency says the park will remain closed until June 6th.
