SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KTRE) - San Augustine city officials issued a notice Wednesday for residents to boil their water prior to consuming.
The recent winter storm caused multiple water leaks prompting the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to require the city to notify residents of the issue and to boil their water before consuming.
To ensure the death of dangerous bacteria and other microbes, water must be brought to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before consuming in any manner.
The notice is effective immediately.
