The body of a man who was in a wreck that occurred on the Highway 96 Neches River Bridge at Evadale has been recovered. A volunteer of the Evadale Fire Department, who was assisting in the search, found the body shortly before 8:00 on Saturday morning not far from the bridge. The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified him as 73-year-old Homer Crawford, a resident of Beaumont. DPS says he was ejected from the truck and was thrown to the river below. DPS Sergeant Shana Clark says evidence supports Crawford as being the driver of the 2014 Dodge pickup truck which struck the bridge guardrail and then rolled over multiple times. Also ejected from the truck was 49-year-old Dana Kendrick, of Buna. At last word she remained in very critical condition in a Beaumont hospital.
