Officers with the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department say the search began at around 9:30, when emergency dispatchers received a report that the fisherman had fallen from a boat and drowned. The search which was organized by Sheriff Sam Craft and his deputies used the boat ramp on the southeast side of the lake, not far from the spillway as their base of operations and shortly after 4:00 pm it was reported that the body of the fisherman had been recovered.
