Beaumont police are investigating a possible hit-and-run fatality after a body was discovered Sunday morning off Highway 69 near Amoco Road.
The initial call came in as a welfare check around 9 a.m. Sunday, but it soon turned into an identification call.
The deceased person has been identified as 27-year-old Beaumont transient Vinnie Sang Nguyen.
Several police units responded to the scene. Beaumont Police Department officials said they will release more information later today.
