SHREVEPORT, La. - Police are on the scene of a deadly shooting in Shreveport's Mooretown neighborhood Tuesday morning. SPD has confirmed that a body was found inside a car in the 4900 block of McDaniel Drive near Horn Place. The call came in about 7:20 a.m. This is the city's 65th homicide this year. On this date last year there were 45 homicides in Shreveport. It's the 9th homicide of the year in the 71109 zip code which ties that zip for second most deadly in 2023. Shreveport is now on pace for 76 homicides in 2023.
