Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby says that details are limited, but he has confirmed that a body has been found in the southern end of the county.
According to Burby, the discovery was made on Monday in a wooded area off of Highway 87, just south of the Devils Pocket Community.
Burby said the deceased person is a female, but he couldn’t release any other information beyond that.
