Law enforcement in Lufkin were busy dealing with an overturned 18-wheeler on Thursday. City of Lufkin spokeswoman Jessica Pebsworth said the accident only involved the big-rig. It happened on the southbound lanes of Loop 287 near Denman Avenue, on the southeast side of that city. Meanwhile, the Lufkin Fire Department had to handle a leaking substance which, fortunately, turned out to be non-hazardous. However, Pebsworth said it was oil based and, therefore, had to be thoroughly cleaned up so as not to pose a traffic hazard. There were no reports of any injuries.
