BELL CITY, La. (KPLC) - A Bell City teen is facing charges after allegedly choking another teen.
Around 7 p.m. on March 25, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office learned two boys, ages 15 and 14, got into a physical altercation at Bell City High School during a non-school-affiliated basketball tournament, CPSO said.
During the altercation, the 15-year-old choked the 14-year-old, and he became unconscious and fell, the sheriff’s office said. He was taken to a local hospital, and the 15-year-old was arrested on a count of simple battery.
Detectives later learned the 14-year-old suffered other injuries from the incident, and the count against the 15-year-old was upgraded to second-degree battery, CPSO said.
The 15-year-old was booked into the Calcasieu Juvenile Detention Center and has since bonded out.
