Beaumont Police have announced that they have a 14-year-old in custody following a weekend murder.
According to a press release, shortly before 8:00 Saturday morning officers found an abandoned vehicle near Avenue C and Crockett Street with a significant amount of blood inside and evidence that a gun had been fired, but no one was in or around the vehicle.
Shortly before 5:00 Saturday afternoon, officers found a deceased male at the corner of 4th and Crockett Streets. The body was identified as being that of 25-year-old Juan Antonio Borrego, of Beaumont.
Police said the investigation lead them to the young teenage suspect who was arrested later on Saturday.
