Beaumont PD asks public to help locate next-of-kin of woman dead since 2016

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Beaumont Police are asking for the public’s help in locating any family members of a woman who was found dead in 2016. Police say they’re hoping that internet sleuths, researchers, or genealogy hobbyists can help them. She was identified through DNA as Rebecca Sue “Becky” Meyers, and her skull was found by a construction crew on September 21, 2016, in a field in the west end of Beaumont. Police say the last time she was seen alive was in August of 2009 near the Jefferson County Correctional Facility between Beaumont and Nederland. Police don’t know how, when, or where she died, or where the rest of her body is. According to police, her last drivers license, which was issued in 2005, showed an Austin address. Police say a missing person report was never filed on the woman. If you find any helpful information, you’re asked to call Beaumont Police at 409-832-1234 and reference the Rebecca Meyers case.
